As we close out the year, there’s good news for our Saba People Cloud customers. Our development team has been hard at work for some time, and in our December Release of Saba People Cloud there is something for everybody!
Now you can chat in real-time with one or several colleagues with our Social enterprise solution. It’s easy to launch a chat room – either start the chat session by inviting several people or if you are already chatting with one person, simply invite additional colleagues into the chat session. Similar to the one-on-one chat, in a group chat room you can easily launch into an online web meeting with a single click. Each chat session will display a count of unread messages and we’ve also added a counter for all the messages across all your chat sessions that have not been read.
Message Digest Updates
We have also added a new email digest, The Message Summary, and added two sections to Hot Content, one of SPC’s most popular digests. The Message Summary digest has three main parts: links to recent private messages, links to the most active discussions in your Company’s People Cloud, and links to the content with the most comments. The Hot Content digest now has “Most Viewed” and “Recommended Content” sections which complement the “Most Liked,” “Most Discussed,” and “Most Shared” links. To receive either of these digests, simply indicate that in your preferences, which are accessible in the drop down menu under your name at the top of the SPC window.
Enhanced Analytics for Performance and Goal Management
To simplify management of the performance review cycle, we’ve added two new reports. The first, Performance Review Summary by Organization Report, gives a snapshot of each department’s progress in the review process and the second, Goal Progress Detail Report, shows how each group is progressing on their goals. We have also added a number of attributes to the analytics engine. Now there are over 100 performance and goal attributes, so you can easily build reports to show you exactly where your Company stands in these processes.

New Evaluation Options for Classes
Now, in addition to course content and assessments, Learning administrators can add pre-test, post-test and follow on evaluations to classes, supporting all levels of Kirkpatrick evaluation model. For a pre-test, the Learning administrator can also define an optional test-out score, which is the minimum score that a learner needs in order to get credit for the course without having to complete the entire course. Evaluations can also be assigned at the completion of the class and also a set period of days afterwards. The follow on evaluations can measure how effective the class has been in improving job performance.
Powerful new support for Experiential Learning and On-the-Job Training (OJT)
With the December release, Learning administrators can add tasks to courses to capture experiential and on-the-job training activities. Courses can now include any combination and sequence of Learning assignments, including sessions, documents, e-Learning content, assessments and tasks. Learning administrators have full control over the overall flow of the course as well as the rules around who is able to evaluate individual on-the-job tasks. Evaluators fall into three categories: specific people; by relationship such as a manager, instructor, or mentor; or by expertise, for example, by someone who has been certified or achieved a skill at a specific level of proficiency.
The Saba People Cloud = Learning made simple
With the December release, the focus on user-friendly Learning continues. Class and course listings in course catalog are very useful to learners in determining which classes to enroll in to meet their needs. These pages have been recently re-designed to make it even easier so you can quickly view all relevant information and in a single click, enroll in a class. Course listings display ratings, comments, tags, the number of completions, any prerequisites and if the course is part of a certification program. In addition to ratings and comments, class listings show the mode of instruction (instructor led, virtual classroom, web based, or blended), dates it is offered, available seats, length of waitlist (if any), and even a photo of the instructor. And, like all objects in SPC's Social LMS, you can easily share course and class listings with others and even bookmark specific listings. If you cannot find a class that meets your needs, simply make a request within SPC and the catalog administrator will be notified.
SPC Workday Connector
The December Release features the debut of the SPC-Workday Connector. From the Workday HR system, you can import profile, organization and job type records. Imports will happen continuously.
Data and Learning Object Import
The import scripts have been modified to allow the import of data files in an even wider variety of formats. Administrators can easily import any relevant Learning objects, including skills, courses, curricula, certifications, instructor-led-training offerings, web-based-training offerings, transcripts and more.
