Pervez Qureshi

Chief Executive Officer

Pervez Qureshi is Saba’s CEO and a member of its Board of Directors. He joined Saba in 2016 after holding a series of executive positions in enterprise application software organizations.

Prior to Saba, Pervez was President and CEO of Epicor Software Corporation and a member of its board of directors. During his two and a half year tenure at Epicor, the company built and expanded its SaaS business, and successfully merged with Activant Solutions, doubling the size of the company to just under $900m.

Prior to Epicor, Pervez served as President and CEO of Activant Solutions Inc. (previously Triad Systems), and under his leadership, the company successfully executed a growth strategy that built key strategic relationships with partners, expanded into new vertical markets, acquired companies, and adopted several new operational processes including NPS, Scrum development and Lean Six Sigma. 

Pervez has a long career in the high tech industry, and previous roles include management positions at Harvest Software, Metaphor Computer Systems, HP, and engineering positions at IBM.

Phil Saunders

President

Phil Saunders is the President of Saba Software and serves on the Board of Directors. He is responsible for all customer-facing facets of the company including sales, marketing, services and customer success efforts.

Before joining Saba, Phil was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Gemalto’s Identity and Data Protection, where he built the company’s global go-to-market organization which included the eBanking and Identity sales organization, as well as the SafeNet platform.

Prior to his work at Gemalto, Phil spent nearly 20 years at SafeNet (which was acquired by Gemalto in 2015), starting as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development in 1997 and ascending to Chief Revenue Officer and board member. His responsibilities included guiding SafeNet’s core functions of worldwide sales, business development, marketing, product management, customer service, operations and fulfillment.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York at Albany and a Master of Business Administration from the Seton Hall University W. Paul Stillman School of Business.

Pete Low

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Pete oversees Saba’s finance, legal, information technology, and security, risk and compliance functions.  Prior to his appointment to Saba, Pete served as CFO of Halogen Software for over a decade. With more than 25 years of financial management experience, Pete was instrumental in guiding Halogen through its Initial Public Offering on the TSX in May 2013, and the acquisition of Halogen by Saba in 2017.
 
Prior to Halogen, Pete was a Managing Partner at Axis Capital Corporation, investing in early stage technology companies. He was actively involved in the strategic direction of many of the firm's portfolio companies, serving as either Chief Financial Officer or a Director for many of them.  Prior to founding Axis, Pete was a Senior Tax Manager at Deloitte LLP, servicing its high technology clients.
Pete has served on a number of boards and committees of for-profit and non-profit organizations, and was the recipient of Ottawa’s Forty under 40 award in 2001.  Pete is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University.  He also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Srini Ogireddy

EVP, Products, Engineering and Cloud

Srinivasa Ogireddy leads Saba’s product strategy, global engineering and cloud operations organizations and is responsible for development and delivery of the highly innovative, scalable, and extensible Saba Cloud platform and applications that power the Saba Cloud. Srini brings 20 years of software development expertise focused on building distributed teams in high-growth environments for rapid delivery of robust applications built on high-performing cloud platforms.


Prior to Saba, in Srini’s role as vice president of product development and delivery at Coremetrics (an IBM Company), he designed and developed the data tier that maintained billions of real-time customer LIVE profiles and provided the technical foundation for big data analytics and digital marketing applications. Srini has also worked as a software architect at Engineers India Ltd. (EIL), a leading provider of engineering and related technical services for petroleum refineries and industrial projects. Srini earned a Bachelor of Engineering with honors in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani and a Masters in Computer Applications from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

John Hiraoka

Chief Strategy Officer

As Chief Strategy Officer, John Hiraoka leads product strategy and corporate development at Saba. He is a recognized expert in enterprise application design, development, sales and marketing.

His 30 years’ experience also includes leadership roles in corporate development, organizational strategy and operational management at Epicor Software, Platinum Software, and DataWorks Corporation.

John majored in mathematics and computer science at the University of Washington.

Karen oversees the customer support function for Saba’s more than 4,000 global customers and leads the company’s commitment to customer advocacy and satisfaction.  A tenured executive with leadership expertise spanning customer success, software development, and product management, Karen joined Saba following the company’s acquisition of Halogen Software. 
 
At Halogen, Karen served as Chief Product Officer, overseeing all facets of how Halogen’s products were built and supported. A customer-focused product leader, she brings more than two decades of experience in the high tech industry to Saba.Prior to Halogen, Karen served as Vice President of the global Business Intelligence & Predictive Analytics Development team and Vice President of Business Analytics Customer Success and Support both part of IBM Software Group.  Karen was responsible for facilitating customer success with Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics and Planning software. 
 
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto and has had extensive leadership and coaching training and experience.  In addition to her formal work related experience, Karen has been an active volunteer since 2010 at the United Way Ottawa and is currently the Chair of the Board.

Chief People Officer

As the Chief People Officer of Saba Software, Debbie Shotwell is responsible for human resources, learning and development, employee communications and community relations.

Debbie brings over 25 years of passion and experience building high performance teams and cultures that deliver results. Before joining Saba, Debbie was the Senior Vice President of People and Culture at BigCommerce, where she owned employee communications, facilities, payroll and stock administration. At BigCommerce she built an innovative learning and development function that supported employee, leadership and strategic partner training. Her success in this capacity led to BigCommerce being recognized as one of San Francisco Bay Area’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, one of Austin’s Top Workplaces, and one of the Best Places to Work in Australia.

Prior to her work at BigCommerce, Debbie was Chief People Officer at Good Technology where she implemented talent programs that increased employee engagement and reduced turnover. She was also instrumental in the successful integration of five companies during her tenure. Additionally, Debbie has held executive HR leadership positions at Pacific Pulmonary Services, Taleo, PeopleSoft, and AvalonBay. 

Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. She has served on the board of directors of Pleasanton Partners in Education and 101 Best and Brightest.
