Yesterday, there were very few leaves on the trees, the air was feeling crisp. The World Series is in the past and Thanksgiving celebrations are on the horizon. Also, I looked out the window this morning and there was snow on the ground. And all these signs can only point to one thing:

The year is almost over. And with that comes performance review season.

The state of the annual appraisal is certainly in flux, with many organizations changing their annual process to favor ongoing, regular check-ins. But whether your people meet with their managers to discuss performance annually or weekly, there is certainly still value in a “big one” when it comes to performance reviews.
