The Talent Development Series

It's no secret that making your organization the best it can be starts with talent development. It's the core of what builds better employees, leaders and teams. And despite the way many organizations run things, it doesn't end after onboarding and training. It's an ongoing process that should be both organization-driven and employee-driven.

With this in mind, we started the Saba Talent Development Series. It's a series of short, digestible webinars all with talent development at their core. We aren't just talking about learning and development here. We're also talking about the link between learning and performance, where learning fuels performance outcomes and drives real value for both individuals and the business.

These 30-minute on-demand webinars make great primers on these different topics.

Letting your employees lead their own development

This is one of the two webinars in the Talent Development Series I got to present myself! I'm a huge fan of self-driven learning because it lets employees get the skills and knowledge right at the point of need, instead of having to wait for when the organization is ready to provide them. Using video to support the modern learner

My second webinar in the series was a natural follow-up to the one above. When self-driven learners seek out learning content, they naturally gravitate towards video. After all, it's more engaging, and according to many studies, more effective!

Video learning has more than doubled over the last 10 years, according to the eLearning Guild, so let's all get with the times. Check this webinar out to find out how you can integrate video into numerous touchpoints to support both formal and informal learning and development.

Coaching for goal achievement

We say it often around here: the outcome of learning isn't knowledge, it's performance. So, when we're developing talent, it's important to make sure that learning is being put to good use.

In this webinar, my brilliant colleague Anita Bowness talks about coaching for goal achievement. It's all about making goals a regular discussion topic between managers and employees instead of working on them under a “set-it-and-forget-it” mindset. This model allows managers and employees to collaboratively identify what the employee needs in order to meet the milestones they've set for themselves.
