It's that time of year again! Next week, the brightest minds in HR and HR technology will descend upon sunny Las Vegas for the 2018 HR Technology Conference. It's one of our favorite events of the year, every year. And for good reason.
HR Tech provides one of the best opportunities to network with peers and leaders in the HR tech market, discuss the link between HR strategy and technology, and to showcase and see the future of HR tech innovation.
We can't wait!
Of course, we're also excited to show how we can help you create a better talent experience for your people. One that puts employees and teams in the driver's seat of their own experience, while staying connected to your business goals. If you're curious about how other organizations are delivering a better talent experience for their people - then stop by Saba booth #2314 in the Expo Hall to talk to us.
We'll show you how Saba makes:
- Better employees
- Better leaders

Yes, HR tech can enable amazing outcomes for your organization and your people. But no matter what your company does or where you work, the success of your business starts with your people. At Saba, we believe that people ARE the value creators for business.

What we're excited for at #HRTechConf 2018
Of course, we're excited about so much more at HR Tech than just what's planned at the Saba booth! Here are a few of the sessions we have circled on our conference agenda.
Sharlyn Lauby on why offboarding is just as important as onboarding
Wednesday, September 12, 2018: 10:30 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.
We're big fans of Sharlyn's insights on how smart HR and learning leaders use talent management practices to deliver a great employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle. In this talk, Sharlyn will touch on how creating a positive offboarding experience benefits the company's talent acquisition and development strategies.
Heather Bussing on "trouble metrics"
Wednesday, September 12, 2018: 1:20 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Heather Bussing is an employment attorney and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board at HR Examiner. She's a brilliant thinker about personnel policies and how organizations create safe and inclusive working environments - something she has written about extensively on this very blog!
Organizations have heaps upon heaps of HR data but often aren't sure what to do with it. In this talk, Heather will teach attendees how to use particular "trouble metrics" to improve engagement and retention, as well as uncover compliance issues such as unconscious bias and sexual harassment. For a primer on her talk, check out the blog post she did on the topic for the Saba Blog.
Jason Lauritsen on the evolution of performance management
Wednesday, September 12, 2018: 1:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
Making a quick stop on his way to his talk at Saba Insight 2018, author and consultant Jason Lauritsen will be leading a session at HR Tech about the new ways companies are handling performance management. In his session, highlighting "Life After the Annual Appraisal," Jason will show attendees how organizations are finding success in abandoning ratings and infrequent check-ins in favor of more dynamic and modern approaches. And, in keeping with the conference theme, how can technology assist in this shift?
Ben Eubanks on AI in HR
Wednesday, September 12, 2018: 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Artificial intelligence is quickly transitioning from buzzword to something very real in HR tech (and frankly, tech more broadly). And while "AI in HR" may evoke visions of robots recruiting talent, there's a little more to it than that.
Ben Eubanks, Principal Analyst at Lighthouse Research & Advisory wrote the book on the link between artificial intelligence and human resources (literally), so when he speaks on the topic, we listen. In his session, he promises to move beyond theory and into the reality of how AI can empower HR to work more efficiently and effectively.
Josh Bersin's talk on the rise of the individual in the new world of work
Thursday, September 13, 2018: 1:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
In this session, Josh will build on the Deloitte Human Capital Trends 2018 report to describe how today's HR tech landscape is shifting its focus toward empowerment, productivity and learning in the flow of work. It's a fascinating topic because we, all of us in the workforce today, are experiencing this ongoing transformation firsthand. And it's creating a shift in the way HR tech supports employee performance and development. And successful organizations are tapping into new approaches to learning, performance management and career development to "develop, retain and reinvent the right talent at the right time."
