Halogen\'s Brilliant Customers Share Their Stories at the 2015 Halogen Customer Conference

The Halogen office is a buzz of activity as we get ready for our 10th Annual Halogen Customer Conference taking place September 9 to 11 in our home town of Ottawa, Canada. It promises to be a great event - from the latest industry trends to insights about hot topics such as extreme leadership.

But one of the things we get most excited about each year is the opportunity to share the remarkable journeys and talent management successes from some of our brilliant customers.

Among the customers sharing their stories at this year’s conference are NASCO, The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, and Cornerstone Healthcare Group. We’re so excited we just can’t keep quiet, so here’s a sneak peak at what these customers will be talking about at the conference:

NASCO – Transitioning to a high-performance learning organization


NASCO was formed in 1987 through a partnership between several major Blue Cross® and Blue Shield ® Plans. What began as an IT healthcare solutions provider has evolved into a single-system solution, capable of serving a Blue’s entire book of business.

When NASCO was faced with a demographic shift in its workforce in 2012, the HR team recognized that in order to keep on track with the organization’s growth strategy they would need to develop the organization’s talent. That realization sparked NASCO’s transition from a disparate talent management process to a single integrated talent management system that maximizes efficiency, accountability, and performance.

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation - Secrets to developing a performance-driven culture

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation is an independent, non-profit institute founded in 1945 and headquartered in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The foundation conducts direct operations, including assisting farmers and ranchers, and conducting plant science research and agricultural programs, to enhance agricultural productivity regionally, nationally and internationally.

When looking to automate their talent management processes, The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation faced the challenge of an employee population that was new to online learning and performance appraisals.

But thanks to some awesome strategic communications before, during and after the Halogen implementation, the HR team has had swift buy-in and a smooth transition to Halogen.

As a result, the Foundation is well on its way to developing a high-performance culture. Emily Bynum, HR Administrator, will share The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation’s talent management journey at the Halogen Customer Conference on September 10th at 1:05 p.m.

Change is never easy and Emily’s session will show how an effective communication plan is critical to helping employees understand the value of – and their roles in – improved talent management initiatives.

Cornerstone Healthcare Group - Ditching paper processes to develop a strong talent pipeline

Cornerstone Healthcare Group

Based out of Dallas, Texas, Cornerstone Healthcare Group operates 19 facilities in six states and employs about 2,200 people. The group specializes in the treatment of patients in need of acute care for an extended recovery time.

With so many different groups working at various facilities across multiple states, the organization’s paper-based talent management process was a challenge to implement. The organization increased efficiency and accountability by switching to the Halogen TalentSpace™ integrated suite.

Since implementing Halogen, Cornerstone Healthcare Group has improved compliance for its 90-day reviews and improved its succession planning process. Melanee Landry, Corporate Manager of Talent Development shares the organization’s success story at the Halogen Customer Conference on September 11 at 1:15 p.m.

Melanee’s session will offer insight into how more efficient talent management practices help foster accountability for goals. The result for Cornerstone Healthcare Group is that is has helped align the organization’s workforce to its patient-centered operating principles, and identify and develop its next generation of leaders.
