We've captured the stories of three unique organizations that are leveraging Saba Cloud to develop leaders from within, manage a global expansion, and develop the skills and talents of a diverse workforce from their first day on the job.
Top of the Class: Northwestern U Recruits Saba to Design a Leader-Driven Learning Culture
Northwestern University chose Saba Cloud to enable employees to manage their learning, performance and development goals from a single platform.
Northwestern University had big expectations for its new learning culture initiative. The goal? Produce great leaders from within to support their culture of academic excellence. Learning and development leaders knew they needed an LMS platform that could integrate learning, performance management and social sharing to go beyond a traditional "compliance only" effort.
"If we were going to build a learning culture, all three of those would have to come together," explains Samir Desai, Northwestern's Executive Director of Learning and Development.
Saba Cloud allows Northwestern's 7,000 support staff to link their learning and performance goals with their development targets, and the team has enthusiastically embraced the new platform. Since implementing the platform staff report feeling valued and engaged.
"People feel a sense of pride," says Desai. "They feel like they're a part of what we're doing."
The Scale Up: Olin Corporation's Overnight Integration of 100+ Countries
Saba Cloud helped Olin Corporation with the challenges of global expansion, integrating learning and performance management to create a transparent user experience.
It wasn't a task for the faint of heart: almost overnight, the team at Olin Corporation became a global company following a major acquisition. The Olin HR team, based in Clayton, Missouri, quickly found themselves managing teams spread across more than 100 countries and in 15 different languages.
Olin was already using Saba's learning and performance solutions prior to the acquisition, so they wanted to scale up – and fast! The Olin team was impressed by how easily and quickly they could scale up the Saba platform to accommodate their expansion, especially since few members on their team were IT-savvy.
"The integration of learning and performance management was a huge selling point for Saba," says Lisa Barnette, Regional Human Resources Manager. "The system is transparent for the user."
Based on the successful integration of performance management, Olin added Saba's compensation planning solution, allowing them to move easily between learning, performance, and compensation — all in the same system.
Barnette was impressed with Saba's level of support during the integration. "The best word to describe Saba is ‘partner,'" she says. "They were right in there with us problem-solving and identifying ways to adapt the tool to our requirements."
The "Connecting Tissue of Skills": BJC Healthcare Links Learning and Performance From Day 1
BJC Healthcare uses Saba Cloud to integrate onboarding, learning, performance management and talent development for integrated learning available 24/7.
The healthcare industry operates around the clock. There's no room for downtime when patients' health and well-being are on the line. And when you're a nonprofit healthcare provider with 15 hospitals and 33,000 employees, like BJC Healthcare, it's critical that you set employees up for success from their first day!
It can be a significant challenge to manage learning, compliance training, performance management and talent development if you don't have the capabilities to handle all those moving pieces. That's why BJC chose Saba Cloud to integrate their fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
BJC also uses Saba to support their new onboarding program, Guiding People to Success (GPS). The GPS platform provides new employees with a training and engagement roadmap, linking managers to their new hires in a common workspace to ensure tight alignment and real-time coaching during the critical onboarding period.
By integrating onboarding, learning, performance management and talent development, BJC is able to optimize their most valued resource – the diversity of skills and talent across their wide-ranging workforce.
"The joy of Saba is the way it connects everything – all the integration that's possible," says Jeanne Bonzon, BJC's Director of Learning and Development. "Linking learning to performance is the holy grail."
