It was an action-packed event – with more than 2500 attendees from around the world and over 200 HR technology vendors. We enjoyed so many elements of the conference and wanted to share just some with you here:
Raising the bar on your talent management strategy
What’s a technology conference without that latest product news? We were excited to unveil the latest mobile, social and analytics enhancements to Halogen’s award-winning Talent Management Suite(TM). These enhancements are centered our mission in helping organizations build their world-class workforce.
If you didn’t have an opportunity to stop by the Halogen booth at HR Tech to see a live demo of Halogen’s latest product enhancements, you can read more about them here.
HR trivia stars tested their mettle
Hundreds of HR Tech attendees stopped by the Halogen booth to test their HR technology and talent management knowledge with “The Be Brilliant HR Challenge”.
This interactive trivia game was a hoot. Participants raced against the clock to answer questions about talent management best practices, the conference agenda, Halogen’s solutions, and a who’s who of HR thought leaders.
Fabulous prizes of Nexus 7 tablets aside, the game was a lot of fun to play.
Long term customer The San Diego Zoo shares Halogen success
On Monday of the conference Tim Mulligan (@mulligna), Chief Human Resources Officer with San Diego Zoo Global led a session in the Talent Management 2 track on his organization’s talent strategy. Tim discussed how the Zoo’s talent strategy has evolved since he first shared his Halogen success at the HR Technology Conference, six years ago.
Tim, along with Halogen President and CEO Paul Loucks, discussed how the Zoo has leveraged Halogen’s talent management technology to help redefine its corporate culture to create a highly engaged, high performance workforce. You can hear and read more about Tim’s story here.
Big Picture Talent Management perspective delivered at the Halogen Demo Session
We showcased our award-winning talent management suite in an HR Tech Demo Session on Day Two of the conference.
From job descriptions and recruiting, to performance management, learning, succession and compensation – our session centered on demonstrating how a complete and organically-built suite makes it easy for organizations to align their talent strategy with their business strategy, so they can achieve exceptional results.
A Little HR Improv at #HRevolution
I was really pumped to participate in HRevolution, a one-day unconference held the day before HR Tech, hosted by some great HR advocates and bloggers – Trish McFarlane, Steve Boese, Ben Eubanks and Crystal Peterson and Matt Stollack. The event brings together HR professionals, vendors, consultants, bloggers, etc. to discuss and debate the future of HR.
We learned a lot, and it was a lot of fun, especially the HR Improv session I got to be a part of. Participants had to present on a slideshow that they had never seen before and somehow tie it back to employee relations, recruiting, etc. My slideshow was an invitation to vacation Nnoordwijk, Holland and I had to somehow tie it the recruiting and talent management process.
You can check out the video below. Thanks to Ben Eubanks at UpStartHR for coordinating the HR Improv session, recording video of participants and writing about it on his blog. Oh and for cutting off my head in most of the video.
This is only one of the many creative sessions at HRevolution, designed to help HR professionals think differently about the future of their profession. If you’ve not attended HRevolution before, you should definitely consider attending next year. There isn’t one person I’ve spoken to that doesn’t get incredible value, and amazing connections from attending.
If we didn’t get a chance to connect with you at HR Tech, we hope to see you next year. What was your favorite part of the conference? Will you attend next year?
