| Aberdeen Whitepaper: Learning and Development: Aligning Workforce with Business Objectives

This study is a compilation of survey responses from 687 organizations globally and provides a roadmap for companies that desire to improve the productivity and alignment of the workforce through Best-in-Class strategies and pursuits.
Survey results show that the firms enjoying Best-in-Class performance
shared several common characteristics, including:
- Best-in-Class organizations are more than twice as likely as Laggard
companies to have a learning and development strategy that has
buy-in and support from senior management and is integrated with
the organization’s overall strategic plan
- Seventy-four percent (74%) of Best-in-Class organizations actively
promote learning programs to those who can benefit from
participating – this is 48% more than Laggard companies
- Seventy-nine percent (79%) of the Best-in-Class have integrated
learning with performance management (as opposed to 55% of
Laggards) and 75% have integrated learning with assessments
(versus only 47% of Laggards)
